We are a K-8 private school with part-time and full-time options, nestled among the charming historic streetscape of Hastings, Florida. Our students are immersed in the natural world, where authentic, experience-based learning nurtures each child’s unlimited curiosity and boundless creativity. At Free Kids Academy, the classroom is a community where children are celebrated and supported as individuals, allowing their infinite potential to be expressed in unique ways.

Why FKA?
Creativity
We believe every child is divinely gifted and has unlimited creativity. Therefore, we have built our day around nurturing a child’s unique abilities and inspiring the joy of learning. Every day, children have dedicated time to pursue their personal interests. This allows our students to further develop their gifts and skills and deepen their knowledge of what matters most to them.
Conscious Curriculum
We believe children are natural, joyful learners. We encourage this by teaching holistically and fostering higher-order thinking skills where students learn how to think, not what to think. By encouraging our children to dive deep into a unit or theme and experience the interconnection of literacy, numeracy, science, social studies, art, music, and more—motivation, knowledge retention, and curiosity naturally increase.
Strong Connections
We believe children need strong connections. It is with intention that our buildings’ footprints are small, our green spaces are large, and our enrollment is clearly defined. This way, we can encourage our children to connect with nature and each other.
Family Choice
We believe families should have a choice when it comes to educating their children. That’s why we chose to be a hybrid model that provides both full- and part-time options. We do not believe in medical mandates. Instead, we honor free-will choice.
Life Skills
We believe life skills need to be an essential part of education for children to be successful in the real world. Most kids graduate not knowing how to manage their money or prepare basic meals. That’s why we dedicate time to life skills. Whether it’s teaching children to find inner peace through meditation, how to engage in deep conversations, or how to invest their income. We give our students the tools they need to be happy, healthy, and abundant.
